About me
My name is Mariana Hilgert. My work revolves around supporting others on their creative path, meaning on their ability to act and create change in the world.Â
For me, curiosity is a central force. It allows me to cultivate a valuable state of learning and creativity that goes beyond the concept of right and wrong. This curiosity drives me to keep my interest in people, the world, and my surroundings alive.
My most important resource is my creativity.
Through various creative tools — such as dancing, movement, writing, listening, and asking questions — I can support you in creating and, most importantly, walking your own path.
My path
For over 20 years, I have been dedicated to dance — my first language of movement. I lost my heart to Hip-Hop at the age of 12, growing up in Brazil, my home country. Over the years, I’ve explored various dance styles, including contemporary dance, West African dances, and Brazilian rhythms.
In 2017, I discovered Joseph Bartz’s holistic approach to movement practice, which I have been studying and working with ever since. The combination of a highly specific and a very generalist practice forms the foundation of my pedagogical work.
Working with people brings me deep joy. Whether through teaching, coaching, workshops, or one-on-one sessions — spending time with students and accompanying them on their journey is a true gift.
My passion for creativity runs through my life, my choices, and my resources. It supports my desire to live a meaningful and responsible life.
My qualifications include:
* 20+ years of dance experience (workshops, groups, performances) in Brazil, the U.S., and Germany
* B.A. in Journalism (UFSC, Florianópolis, Brazil)
* M.A. in Translation Studies (University of Heidelberg, Germany)
* Ph.D. in Translation Studies/Dance Studies (UFSC, Brazil / FU Berlin, Germany)
* Certifications in Pedagogical Training from *mehr als lernen e.V.*
* Movement Coach at Joseph Bartz Training
Originally from Brazil, I now live and work in Berlin, Germany.Â
As an artist, researcher, coach, and aunt, I am inspired by children, nature, animals, emotions, taking responsibility, and kindness.
I value depth and sustainability, as well as the metaphors life offers.
My values
Joy
I am a passionate trainer and human being. I love working with people and sharing in the joy of movement and discovery, passing it on to others.
Curiosity
I value discovery. In everything we know well, there is still so much that remains unknown to us.
Autonomy
My goal is that you won’t need me forever — but that you’ll be able to integrate your own Creative Body practice into your life independently. All of my offerings are designed to empower your self-agency.
My vision
My work is dedicated to supporting people in their development — helping them unlock their potential and translate it into vitality. Movement and dance, creativity, and coaching are the tools I use to enable personal transformation. Beyond purely physical experiences, I create spaces that help people connect more deeply with themselves, overcome personal limitations, and live with energy, depth, and self-trust. I believe in supporting the journey of self-discovery by: * Challenging limiting beliefs * Encouraging creative exploration * Providing structured guidance * Helping individuals recognize their inner strengths My approach is rooted in my core values — curiosity, autonomy and joy. I’m committed to creating meaningful experiences that inspire personal growth and help people become more conscious, confident, and authentic. Through coaching, courses, and content, I aim to show that personal development is a dynamic, creative process of continuous learning and self-discovery.
